FAQ & Fees

We understand that life happens. We kindly ask that you notify your therapist at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. This allows the therapist to leave this time slot open for other individuals in need. Our cancellation fee of $50 will occur if notice has not been given within 24 hours before your appointment, except in cases of emergencies.

Currently I am only accepting Blue Cross Blue Shield Providers. Please check with your insurance to make sure your visit is covered. You are responsible for co-pays or full payments until the deductible is met. Please check with your therapist to ensure that your insurance is accepted.

For those out of network plans, Talking Works will do all of the billing for your insurance although you will be required to make full payment to Talking Works at the time of service.

Initial Intake Session: $150.00

Individual Counseling Session: $100.00

Couples Counseling Session: $150

Payment is accepted in the form of cash, credit, or check.

The relationship between a therapist and client is a professional therapeutic relationship.  Your first visit will be one in which you and your therapist determine if we are a good fit and would work well together.  The first appointment is designed to determine if you are comfortable with me and the manner in which I work.  I will listen to your concerns closely in a non-judgmental way and together we will decide if I can be of help to you.  From there we will discuss what you would like to accomplish as a result of the therapeutic process.

The number and length of services will be determined by a number of factors which will be discussed by your therapist.  Generally, you can expect for services to be an average of 50 minutes in length to give you an idea of a general time frame, but the specific information on length of services will be determined and discussed by your therapist and is based upon your specific needs.

In the beginning, you may be encouraged to come in once a week.  We will work together to determine how often you will need to come in for therapy.

Discussions between a therapist and client are confidential.  No information will be released without the client's written consent unless mandated by law.  Therapists are legally mandated to make certain disclosures in circumstances where there is suspicion to harm yourself, harm others, or child abuse.  All disclosures will be discussed with you in advance.

Therapy is a place where you can talk about anything and everything you feel comfortable discussing.  I strive to create an environment where you feel safe to talk in a non-judgmental environment.

Talking Works strives to meet the needs of its clients.  However, we do understand that life does happen outside of normal business hours.  In the event of an emergency, you are encouraged to call 911 or go to your nearest hospital emergency room.  Additionally, you can call the 24-hour / 7 days a week free and confidential Suicide and Crisis Lifeline by dialing or texting 988.
